McLean Honors Over 30 Veterans with Flowers and Celebration

McLean Auxiliary Volunteers put together 160 flower arrangements in honor of the over 30 McLean residents who served our country, during a celebratory luncheon and concert on the Great Pond campus.

McLean Post-Acute Program Earns 100% Patient Satisfaction

McLean's Post Acute TeamA recent survey conducted by My Innerview concluded that 100% of McLean’s discharged post-acute patients would recommend McLean Post-Acute Rehab to others AND were 100% satisfied with the care they received.

McLean’s Post-Acute Rehab Program also earned the 100% rating for nursing care, medical care, quality of rehabilitation, progress toward goals, respectfulness of staff and many others reports Robyn Ligotti, PT, DPT Director of Post-Acute Services.

Artistic Displays Featured at McLean During the Month of October

Throughout the month of October, artwork by Deb Boemmels will be featured in the lobby of McLean Health Center and open for the public to enjoy. Deb has been an inspirational, self-taught artist for her entire life who specializes in watercolors and acrylic paints. Her greatest influence has always come from Mother Nature and the beauty of Earth.

McLean Expands and Renovates Assisted Living Neighborhood

McLean Robinson sitting areaThe newly refurbished Robinson assisted living community celebrated a grand opening last month at the McLean Health Center, as an extensive four month renovation project, completed by Newfield Construction, came to a close.

The space was transformed into six new state-of-the-art studio resident rooms complete with full bathrooms, adding much needed capacity to the existing 23 room assisted living neighborhood within the Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) on Great Pond Road. Refurbishments extended throughout the existing spaces in the Robinson assisted living neighborhoods.

McLean Warm Water Pool Open Enrollment

Water toning class at the McLean Wellness Center Virginia Darling Young Warm Water Pool.Many people tell the McLean Wellness staff that the Virginia Darling Young Therapeutic Pool is Simsbury’s best kept secret!  They want to change that and are offering a special open enrollment period for September. The pool temperature is kept at a soothing 92 degrees, perfect for aquatic exercise for those that have any form of arthritis, orthopedic issues and great for pre and post-operative exercise. You do not need to know how to swim nor will your hair get wet, unless you want to! 

You may choose to pay by the class for $8, by the month with several options including a $50 plan that covers 2 classes a week and use of the pool in daily open swim periods, or an annual membership ranging from $365 to $741.  Call 860-658-3750 or click for more information.
