McLean President, David Bordonaro, honors 45 employees for their many years of outstanding service with a heartfelt presentation and celebration.

McLean President David Bordonaro recently presented over 45 McLean employees with Outstanding Service Awards during a ceremony honoring the group for their many years of exceptional service to the organization. “It is your hard work, commitment and dedication to McLean every day that makes us the unique community that we are. Thank you for all that you do.”

Among those honored for their dedication was Craig Boettger, Director of Building and Environment Services. Boettger, who has been with McLean for 40 years, is a second-generation McLean employee. His father held the position before him for 18 years. “McLean has been a special place for our family for two generations. McLean Celebrates Birthdays in Style

On Wednesday, January 15, 2014 The Robinson and The Atwater communities joined together to celebrate 4 birthdays. Not only did the festivities include cake and punch but each birthday girl had “Happy Birthday" sung to them by all and the residents were serenaded by pianist Dennis Milner and resident and singer Tom Kelly gave his best rendition of “Bye Bye Blackbird". It was a wonderful celebration and we wish each birthday girl a very Happy Birthday. January 2014 Birthdays Robinson

McLean fills Director of Marketing and Sales Role

Elizabeth Marquis takes the helm after longtime Vice President of Marketing,  Freddi Hoffmann retires.

McLean recently announced Elizabeth Marquis has joined the McLean Community as Director of Marketing and Sales when Freddi Hoffmann retired after 12 years with McLean. As the pair completed the hand-over, President David Bordonaro, offered a sentimental and heartfelt thanks. “We are so proud of our past, our commitment to the town of Simsbury and area seniors. We are very grateful for Freddi’s contribution to our growth over the past several years. We wish her well on her next chapter, as we look forward to an exciting future for McLean.”

Marquis brings extensive experience in marketing, digital marketing, public relations and advertising to the role. Most recently with Forethought Financial Group and The Hartford, Marquis perfected her skills in corporate communications, digital marketing strategies and traditional marketing media. Her connection to McLean began five years ago when she and business partner, Sarah Leathers, started a move management company called ManageMyMove in their spare time. Addressing the challenges that sometimes come with moving, ManageMyMove helped families in the area transition from longtime family homes to retirement communities such as McLean by providing assistance with floor plans, dispersing family heirlooms and furnishings, and helping families get acclimated to their new surroundings. “Moving can be overwhelming,” said Marquis. “Questions such as ‘What do I do with all of my stuff?’ and even harder, ‘How do I know when I’m ready to move?’ are common questions to ask. The best part for me is when someone makes the transition and knows they’ve made the right choice. That is what I’m looking forward to most here at McLean – joining a team that is dedicated to helping families get the support and care they need, to make the right choice at the right time.”
