McLean Home Care and Hospice a Top Workplace

McLean Home Care and Hospice is pleased to announce that it has been selected as one of The Hartford Courant, FOX CT and Hartford Magazine Top Workplaces for the third year in a row.

Pat Adams RN, MPH, CMC, and Administrator of McLean Home Care & Hospice congratulated McLean Home Care and Hospice employees for making McLean a leader in senior living, and senior healthcare again this year.  “We are very proud of the high quality expertise and care our trusted home care and hospice teams consistently provide. It is their dedication which continues to earn accolades and achievements, including this latest recognition of being a TOP CT Workplace three years running.”

The Top Workplaces are determined primarily on employee feedback. Initially, a member of the Home Care & Hospice team nominated McLean Home Care and Hospice for the award. All employers that were nominated were not charged a fee for their nomination. The next step includes an employee survey. The employee survey is conducted by WorkplaceDynamics, LLP, a leading research firm on organizational health and employee engagement. WorkplaceDynamics conducts regional Top Workplaces programs with 40 major publishing partners across the United StatesThe results of the survey put McLean in a select group of over 700 employers.

Contest judges reviewed the survey results which included responses on McLean's leadership, values, compensation packages and other factors. In addition, to be eligible for the designation of Top Workplace, a company must exceed a standard that is consistent across the United States.  All of this and more contributed to the official recognition of a Top Workplace.

The Hartford Courant and FOX CT published the complete list of Top Workplaces on September 21st. For more information about the Top Workplaces lists please visit www.topworkplaces.com.

Continuity and Preservation: Past, Present and Future

Grant from Richard P. Garmany Fund at the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving Will Replace Water-Outflow Control System in Spring Pond at McLean Game Refuge

Thanks to a generous grant from the Richard P. Garmany Fund at the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving, Spring Pond in the McLean Game Refuge will receive a new, water-outflow control system.

Senator McLean built two ponds in the McLean Game Refuge: Trout Pond and Spring Pond. Both ponds represent a confluence of conservational vision and national importance. Three Presidents, Coolidge, Taft, and Hoover were guests of Senator McLean at Trout Pond. Additionally, Gifford Pinchot, originally from Simsbury, and later first head of the U.S. Forest Service and Governor of Pennsylvania, also frequented the ponds with Senator McLean.

Course Description:  For two centuries the U.S. has operated a free marketplace of ideas which allows different generations and groups to seek different responses to their spiritual and religious needs.  Change is a constant feature so whatever you learned about religion in the U.S, a generation ago is out of date.  Whether you are a political consultant, a marketer, a religious leader or a social scientist, it’s impossible to fully understand American society today without understanding what’s happening to religion in America.
