Lisa Clark, Administrator of the McLean Health Center, in Simsbury, proudly announced this week that McLean is the only nursing home in the area and only one of five in the state to receive the Excellence in Action award from My InnerView. This is a subsidiary of the National Research Corporation that conducts patient satisfaction surveys and tallies comparative data.
This recognition is presented annually to nursing homes that achieve outstanding customer satisfaction. This year's award was presented to 593 nursing homes. Approximately 5,500 facilities participated in the 2011 survey.
Ms. Clark explained that McLean scored in the top 10% of qualifying facilities on the question "What is your recommendation of this facility to others?" in terms of percentage of respondents rating the facility as "excellent.” She noted “We pride ourselves on receiving scores that show excellent care and excellent customer services. We want our residents to be happy, to know that the staff truly care about them, and their loved ones to know they are well cared for. Our person centered philosophy and its execution on a daily basis makes the resident’s needs and wishes the center of each decision. This done well leads to very high patient satisfaction. I commend all of our employees on winning this award for the third consecutive year.”
Ann Costello, daughter of a McLean resident, told us that she was so happy when her mother moved from a local assisted living facility to the McLean Health Center to get the skilled care she needed and not at all surprised by this recognition. “I checked out many homes when choosing the right place for my mother. I am delighted with the care she receives. The aides, nurses, in fact, everyone is so good. It is light, bright and everyone smiles at McLean.”
