McLean’s Warm Water Pool Offers Exercise for Every Body

Water therapy, group fitness classes, and open swim times make exercise easy and fun.

Located in the McLean Wellness Center, the Virginia Darling Young Therapeutic Pool remains at a soothing 92 degrees all year-round. A variety of group fitness classes and open swim sessions, as well as water therapy offered through McLean’s Outpatient Therapy department, offer exercise options for just about every body.

Aquatic exercise in a warm water pool provides joint support, muscle relaxation and pain relief. Participants can improve flexibility, strength, and aerobic fitness while reducing stiffness and pain. Ideal for individuals who have had sports related injuries, arthritis, lower back pain, diabetes, or other conditions that effect circulation, water exercise can help ease circulation, as well as improve balance, mobility and breathing.

McLean’s Wellness Center is handicap accessible. Parking is close and convenient. Follow the signs to the back of the McLean Health Center, 75 Great Pond Road, Simsbury.
