A Fantastic Way to Get Involved in Your Community - Recruitment Session Scheduled for Meals-on-Wheels Volunteers

A Meals-on-Wheels driver recruitment session will be held on Tuesday, March 26th at 1:00 p.m. in the Burkholder Restaurant at The Village at McLean, 100 Sarah Lane, Simsbury. All who are interested in learning more about becoming a volunteer driver are invited to attend.

The McLean Meals-on-Wheels program is a fantastic way for residents to get involved in their community. Volunteers deliver nutritious meals to homebound seniors. They also provide companionship and a safety check for residents in the community. All it requires is a two-hour commitment once or twice a month, and access to a car. Become one of the Meals-on-Wheels volunteers and make a difference in someone’s life. At this time, drivers are needed for the Avon and Canton routes only. The meal pick-up point is at the Avon Valley Baptist Church.

Companies are also wanted to assist us with delivering Meals-on-Wheels. We are grateful to our current corporate sponsors: Dillon Mailing & Printing, FAVARH, and CT Institute for the Blind/Canton Day Program for providing home delivered meal services to people in need.
