Here's a letter we received in August from a Post Acute patient:
To the Administrative Staff at McLean,
After being a patient at McLean Rehab, I feel I must express my sincere appreciation to all for all that has been done for me. Having been there from July 7 to July 31, I saw many careggivers and was truly impressed with the care and encouragement I received from everyone. Support meant so much and thanks to everyone at McLean, I am coming along well. Thank you one and all for your part in providing such a setting with a warm, efficient staff working in a beautiful, well kept setting. It must be a challenge providing and keeping up with the needs.
Here are a few recent comments from Outpatient Rehab clients:

Family Quotes December 09
"Dear McLean Hospice,
I wasn't home today when it came but Wendy John, our Hospice volunteer, delivered the most beautiful and heart-warming holiday gift basket that I have ever seen. I sincerely mean that. We were so touched to receive it. I want to give a special thanks to all the folks at McLean Hospice and all the individuals, merchants and organizations who contributed their time, skills, resources and products to make the baskets possible. Their style, content and presentation are perfect ... homey, peaceful, and non-commercial! Our family was very touched to receive one. Thank you all! I also want to take this opportunity to thank all the wonderful people at McLean's Hospice including the nurses, social workers, spiritual supporters and volunteers for all they have done to support our family and my mother. We could never do what we are doing without them. They are life-savers. We wish you all a peaceful and joyous holiday! Enjoy!
It was with great pleasure that dad opened up all the lovely things in the beautiful basket that was hand delivered to our door the other day. You have a wonderful group of angels to help you bring comfort in our time of need. We are so grateful for the support of such a well run program at McLean--- and for every caretaker who has come here with such kindness. You do make a difference and we are so grateful. May all your efforts care and love be multiplied back to you.
The First Annual Tree of Light and Life Celebration was lovely and meaningful. Each speaker touched on so many relevant thoughts for all of us. The Threshold Choir touched our hearts with their music. Thank you.
The team was just so wonderful and so caring. Many thanks to all -especially GM who was so helpful and MG who was so supportive and there during my mother's passing.
As I sit at my kitchen table with a cup of tea, I go to the stack of cards and read all the spiritual bouquets sent to us during mom's passing. As a Hospice volunteer I thought that I'd breeze through this and pop right back to my usual routine. Well guess what---now I realize the level of sensitivity and caring that's needed and appreciated during this process. I thank you all for my Hospice training and for your support. Your words and messages will be cherished for some time. I love you and I am so honored to be part of the Hospice team.
Dear Margi, It was very nice to see you at the very special lighting ceremony. You have a very soothing way of talking under these circumstances. It was a lovely program. I am sending a remembrance of …'s birthday to help you to continue to help others as you do.
To all the wonderful people who put together the holiday basket we give our heartfelt thanks. It is comforting to know that in a sometimes cold world there are those who choose to make a difference.
Dear Ms Pease, Thank you for your most kind and heartfelt note. I can't tell you how much it meant to my wife and me to learn that you had spent so much time with N… that last Wednesday. We had visited on Monday and returned Thursday the day she passed away. She was my only cousin, and we had always been very close. I have wonderful memories of our childhood together and felt an honor and joy to have been her guardian literally all of my adult life. I think what you are doing as a hospice volunteer is one of the most special commitments anyone could assume. I commend you for your caring and thank you again for comforting her.
Dear Friends on the Mclean Hospice Team, My family and I are so grateful for your wonderful care and treatment of S… and I in her final days. We wish Gods blessings on you all.

Dear Lisa,
On two occasions recently, upon discharges from Hartford Hospital, I requested the services of your Home Care. It is my hope that you know of the outstanding quality of the four members of your team who cared for me: Elaine Leard, PT, Sherry Marsh, RN, Mary Johnson, OT, and Lorna Grant, HHA. Their combined assessments, knowledge, skills, and compassion truly helped me over a difficult time. Elaine knew just what my orthopedic doctor wanted as treatment. Sherry was most supportive of both me and my husband...Sincerely, XXX, RN, MS
