Quality And Patient Satisfaction (read what our patients tell us)

McLean doesn't just say we're good - we constantly measure quality data and patient satisfaction…

McLean
earned its reputation as being "the best."

McLean Home Care is ranked #1 among area VNAs for keeping patients at home and not having unexpected re-hospitalizations after an illness. This is a critical measure physicians use to evaluate home care.

McLean Home Care & Hospice has been recognized by HomeCare Elite as one of the top 25% agencies in the nation. This recognition is based upon empirical data.

Our nurse was terrific, professional, prompt, courteous, caring and attentive. We couldn't have asked for better service.

McLean Outpatient

McLean's Healthy Living Program does not compare to other programs. It is unique. I do not feel self-conscious. I feel safe. I am making progress to becoming stronger and healthier without prescription medications.

.

McLean Day Center received another perfect score on its state certification survey received with commendation.

Someone once asked me why I thought McLean was so special.
To me, a big part of it is explained by the thriving existence of the Adult Day Center. I think it helps make McLean a little less of a large healthcare institution and a little more of a community hub. I suspect that's the essence of what Senator McLean had in mind when he conjured up the vision of a continuum. congratulations, Terry, to you and your staff present and past, for everything you have done to make the ADC the excellent program it is-truly a model for others to follow. 12/30/07

Here's a letter we received in August from a Post Acute patient:

To the Administrative Staff at McLean,
After being a patient at McLean Rehab, I feel I must express my sincere appreciation to all for all that has been done for me. Having been there from July 7 to July 31, I saw many careggivers and was truly impressed with the care and encouragement I received from everyone. Support meant so much and thanks to everyone at McLean, I am coming along well. Thank you one and all for your part in providing such a setting with a warm, efficient staff working in a beautiful, well kept setting. It must be a challenge providing and keeping up with the needs.

Here are a few recent comments from Outpatient Rehab clients:

1/23/08 Everyone & everything was great. Going to miss you all.

2/11/08 All members of the PT unit were supportive and helpful - helped me understand my condition and how to manage it.

2/4/08  Your staff is outstanding from the front desk (Kim & Sue) to your therapists. They were all very caring, helpful and supportive. Thank you.

Here are some comments from Hopsice families received in June 2008:

Your (bereavement) literature was scarily on target. The mailings and telephone contact during bereavement were very helpful. The Memorial Service was touching and healing. What a great program!

·Each letter that I received this year helped me to cope and understand my grief. It all helped so much to know I was not alone I am so eternally grateful for all you and your angels here on earth do to help other human beings cope with a very challenging time in our lives. Thank you from the bottom of my heart and the heart of all my family.

When my husband was dying the support I received was fantastic and it was comforting to know that your Hospice team was available to me any time I needed them.

Here are a few more recent letters and email:

Thank you for the loving care that you provided for my father. Sincerley, XXX

Comments from families of McLean Hospice patients received in notes or patient satisfaction surveys 1st and 2nd quarter 2008:

This was my first experience with Hospice and I cannot say enough good things about your staff and service. Firstly the staff did what they said they would do. That in itself is a real gift. Secondly staff was available at night and on weekends to work through problems. Thirdly staff gently but firmly did what needed doing and supported my mother's primary caregivers and me with uncommon kindness and understanding. Lynne Tobin, 2 caregivers and I were with my mother when she died - it is a passage I will never forget and I am so grateful.

Thank you so much for your compassionate care of my dad and of our family. I want to particularly acknowledge Jill and Joni who went above and beyond the call of duty to communicate long distance with us and support us as well as our mom and our dad (we were in Calif and Canada). I also want to thank Lynne and Margi for their warmth and kindness and support. I hope I have not left anyone out. Also the rose you sent was the first on the scene and very touching. Again I thank you all. We have been blessed to meet and know you.

Our sincerest thanks for all your help counsel and support through my mom's decline and passing. Honestly I do not know what we would have done with out Hospice care. Thank you for serving us and upholding us.

There is no way I can possibly express the level of gratitude I have for each of you. You were all so kind, empathetic, understanding, helpful,, gentle, and loving to me and my husband while he was at Avon Health Center. It was an extremely emotional time for me, but it was wonderful to see the care and attention he was receiving from those of you taking care of him. I appreciate all you did to make sure he was as comfortable as possible. That really meant so much to me and my daughters. God bless all of you for the work you do.

I can't imagine any better care than my dad and our family received. It was an inspiring experience before, during, and it still is!! Thank you all!

Everyone involved was absolutely wonderful to work with and totally organized with each other.

They (the hospice team) rode the ride with us and they have my thanks.

They were truly angels. When Hospice people were here I felt absolutely safe.

Dear Lisa,
On two occasions recently, upon discharges from Hartford Hospital, I requested the services of your Home Care. It is my hope that you know of the outstanding quality of the four members of your team who cared for me: Elaine Leard, PT, Sherry Marsh, RN, Mary Johnson, OT, and Lorna Grant, HHA. Their combined assessments, knowledge, skills, and compassion truly helped me over a difficult time. Elaine knew just what my orthopedic doctor wanted as treatment. Sherry was most supportive of both me and my husband...Sincerely, XXX, RN, MS
