The McLean Continuum of services offers a wide range of employment opportunities. Our sub-acute unit for short-term rehab and hospice, our long-term care facilities and our special care program offers wonderful learning opportunities. Our Home Care Agency, Adult Day Care programs, Outpatient Rehabilitation program, Independent Housing and Wellness programs offer opportunities to work in a community setting.

We pride ourselves on having an effective and caring multi-disciplinary team approach to patient care and recognize that it is our staff that has earned us our excellent reputation. Each employee works in a manner consistent with the McLean Code of Conduct - a set of values and behaviors developed by employees to which we all adhere. It is the McLean way, and it sets us apart. Our campus is located only 25 minutes from West Hartford Center, is wooded, beautiful and safe and offers plenty of free parking. If you think this is the environment you would like to be in, we encourage you to visit us to learn more about us.

See the positions open below, but first read what our nurses said when we asked a few of them in June 2008 "Why do you work at McLean?"

Karen, RN, CHPN
I had been impressed for a long time with the professionalism and the quality of care at McLean, so when a job opening occurred I joined the McLean Home Care & Hospice Team. As a McLean nurse, I am much more supported, valued, and given more growth opportunities than in my previous jobs.

Peter, Graduate Nurse
I know someone who works here who recommended McLean as a good environment for nurses in which to learn and work. And I was told McLean always provides quality care. As a new nurse from Capital, McLean's new Director of Nursing encouraged me to join her team.

Gail, RN, Nursing Supervisor, Long Term Care
Thirty one years ago, I wanted a part time job when my children were young, and I knew good people at McLean whom I called for a job. Over time I became a supervisor and wrote the first CNA curriculum. Every time I felt I needed to move on, I was challenged by McLean. Now as the 3 - 11 Supervisor, I can nurse, teach, or sit with a patient or family member when they need someone who cares. I really love what I do.

Bob, RN
As a new nurse, I wanted the type of nursing where I would really get to know my patients. I also have a special interest in end-of-life care, beyond hospice, to the quality of lives elders have. McLean has a good reputation, and the position gives me the flexibility to explore various avenues for my nursing future.

Melanie, Graduate Nurse
I choose to work at McLean because of its excellent quality. Plus it is close to home, and they offered me the hours I wanted and no weekends so my schedule fits my needs. I recently completed the program at Springfield Technical Community College. I love working with the elderly so this is a really good fit.

Jeanne, RN
I have four kids I have put through college by working here nights for almost ten years. Why did I choose McLean? I worked other places and found McLean to be the best. For instance, where I worked before I had 60 patients and one and one half aides for the night shift while at McLean I have 30 patients and two aides.

Denise, RN, WCC, Infection Control Nurse
I have been at McLean for nearly 17 years because of our high standards of excellence that prove valuable in all of our statistics. As the Infection Control Nurse, I absolutely have the support of the administration and resources I need to provide our excellent standard of care. My favorite thing is that there is no skimping on supplies we need. Infection Control Nurses from other facilities whom I speak with are very impressed with what we have at McLean.

Marilyn, RN, Home Care
I have worked for McLean Home Care for nine years. I came because of McLean's excellent reputation, and I knew people who worked here who liked it. It is convenient especially now with gas prices. I love home care and working in my own community. Oh, and the pension contribution is very good.
